Real Estate Investment Analyst
Based in central London, our client in the Real Estate sector is looking for an Investment Analyst to work closely with their Investment Director, covering a wide range of duties, including investment, market study, acquisition underwriting, due diligence, forecasting and budget control.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare internal and external reportz including quarterly reports, investment papers, business plan and partnership strategy.
- Analyse potential acquisitions, provide support to the underwriting and presentation of opportunities in conjunction with the Investment Director.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks associated with real estate investments, such as market volatility, regulatory changes, and tenant default. Recommending strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Undertake research and analysis of the UK markets, including trends, performance, peer reviews and customer analysis.
- Work with accounting functions, including monthly and quarterly reconciliations, forecasting and budget control.
- Develope relationships with key stakeholders including investors, advisors, property consultants, customers and the wider real estate market.
- Assist in the establishment of new investment vehicles, investment strategy, financial modelling, corporate governance and service agreements.
- Assist in the management of a real estate investment portfolio by monitoring the performance of existing properties, tracking income, expenses, and market conditions, and making recommendations for portfolio adjustments.
- Assist in structuring real estate deals, including negotiating terms, securing financing, and coordinating with legal and financial advisors.
Requirements:
A strong numerical undergraduate degree
Some years’ prior experience as an Analyst within a real estate private equity firm, investment bank, accountancy or real estate investment/asset manager
Advance analytical capabilities including creating, calculating and interpreting complex financial models such DCF, NPV and IRR
A genuine interest in real estate transactional activity and an established knowledge of market conditions
A commercial mindset that can assess the levels of risk, the likely returns and the commercial financing angles
